Weak Arm. Dr. Hishmeh did some surgery to my neck. I came to the hospital with a very weak right hand and arm. I was very scared and even asked for two other opinions. Dr. Hishmeh was the only one that talked to me like a human being. The surgery went great. I highly recommend this man. Great surgeon.
I was born with a pronounced curvature of the spine. A condition known as Scoliosis and Kyphosis. I've had this since I was a teenager and it has caused me pain and it affected my posture. I was never able to stand up straight. Dr Hishmeh performed a spinal fusion surgery and now I am a few inches taller and I can now stand up straight and have excellent posture. I was very embarrassed for years about the way my back looked. And I now have a new sense of confidence and my life has really changed for the better. The first month after surgery was painful, which was to be expected. But I recovered very quickly thereafter. Dr Hishmeh was very professional and took all my calls. This was a complicated surgery and did an excellent job and I am very pleased of the outcome.
On July 30 2015 Dr Hishmeh performed my surgery. I was very pleased with him. Prior to my surgery Dr Hishmeh has explained many options to me and I was very pleased. He did not pressure me at all. Before Dr Hishmeh I had 2 other opinions and was not happy with them. When I first went to Dr Hishmeh in May of 2015 he explain many procedures and also said that I could be 80 percent better. He was right. Unfornatlely I could not have the surgery in may because my husband needed surgery so I was put on hold. When I finally saw Dr Hishmeh in the beginning of July he again explain which procedures would be best for me. He answered all of my questions and even wanted to do one thing on me which might help or not but it was worth to try. I will find out in October when I have a lumbar x-ray and see if it took. I am very happy that I found Dr Hishmeh. He was referred to me by my chiropractor dr Seth Berrin who they both agree on the same level of my surgery. I share this story so that you can trust dr Hishmeh. His office staff has been wonderful with me before and after my surgery. No matter how many questions I asked they were able to help me. I have the utmost respect in dr Hishmeh in his confidence. I could not have done this without his knowledge.
Dr. Hishmeh and his staff, Ronya and Cindy, were wonderful. From the first time I walked into the office I felt very comfortable. I just knew I was in the right place. Dr. Hishmeh himself was amazing. He performed cervical spine surgery on me, which in comparison to the surgeries he usually performs, was relatively minor. However, I never felt less important than his other patients. My calls were returned promptly; he even gave his cell number to us! I can't say enough about how I feel about Dr. Hishmeh. He is compassionate, warm, always willing to go out of his way for his patients. He is also humble, which is a rare quality in doctors! If you need any kind of spine surgery, call Dr. Hishmeh. He has been a blessing to me and will be a blessing to you too.
Dr. Hishmeh was very understanding of all my concerns and spent as much time as I needed explaining my procedure and answering all my questions. I felt very comfortable in his office and was very confident in having Dr. Hishmeh operate on me. The office staff was also very kind.
Pre-operative testing (i.e. blood work, chest x-rays, EKGs, stress tests, and pulmonary function studies) is usually required prior to surgery. All testing is usually completed two to four weeks prior to surgery. Antibacterial Soap – The hospital will usually give you soap to clean prior to surgery. Cleanse your entire body, paying special attention to the area where your surgery is going to be performed. In the surgical area, use a wash cloth, cleansing for five minutes.
