Dr. Hishmeh, a New York City/Manhattan Spine Fellowship Trained Board Certified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon continues to lead the way in providing quality spine care on Long Island. He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and Along with his associates, Dr. Hishmeh handles some of the most complex cases in the region from idiopathic adolescent scoliosis, to adult spinal deformity scoliosis or kyphosis, to complex revision spine surgery to failure of spinal fusion. Dr. Hishmeh is a Scoliosis Research Society member, and elite society dedicated to the advancement of complex spine surgery, and has recently been nominated to the patient education committee of the SRS.
He enjoys teaching and performs mission trips to underserved parts of the world. Additionally, he too travels to all parts of the world to continue his own education, with Dr. Hishmeh going as far as South Korea for some specialty training from a world-renowned founder of complex spine surgery, Professor Suk.
In addition to the complex reconstructive spinal surgeries, Dr. Hishmeh performs cervical spinal surgery, lumbar disc surgery and even disc replacements when indicated; all at local Long Island Hospitals. Minimally invasive techniques are used when appropriate and indicated as well.
A multi-disciplinary approach to managing complex spinal pathology has been developed and is used by Dr. Hishmeh, as needed to safely treat your more complex, to your more standard, spinal conditions.
